Rejection is direction.

“Rejection is direction.” - Tom Aris

  • “No thank you.”

  • “We decided to go another way.”

  • “It’s not you, it’s me.”

  • “We’re going to have to let you go.”

  • “I’m feeling smothered.”

  • “Sorry, you’re not invited.”

  • “There isn’t any room for you.”

  • “Get the hell out of my face!”

  • “No! Out!”

All of these are examples of the universe clarifying for me what it’s time for right now.

It’s letting me know what I can do to remain fully connected with myself and the world around me. It’s letting me know how to love what is, right now in this moment.

When I can understand rejection as the beautiful gift of direction in this moment - without going to war with myself or others or laying any meaning over people’s simple instructions, when I recognize their words as the benevolent universe clarifying for me exactly what should be right now - I see that I am being shown exactly how to be in love and at peace with the world and with my fellow human being.

And in the end, peace and love are the only things I ever really want from, or for, anyone or anything.
