def: An invitation to see the world separated.
“Me” from “others”…
“Humanity” from “God”…
“What should be” from “what is”…
“Past” or “future” from “right now”…
“Elsewhere” from “right here”…
When I believe in separation, it hurts, when I don’t, it doesn’t. That’s God’s guidance.
In The Lord’s Prayer, “[you] lead us not into temptation” is Jesus guiding people to recognize that God is never leading us to see the world separated. On the contrary: God is always delivering us from this illusion.
To “resist temptation” is to remind myself that everything is whole,
That there is…
No “me” that is not also “others,” no “others” that are not also “me.”
No “good” that is not also “bad,” no “bad” that is not also “good,”
No “heaven” that is not also “earth,” no “earth” that is not also “heaven.”
No “humanity” that is not also “God,” no “God” that is not also “humanity.”
No “what should be” that is not also “what is,” no “what is” that is not also “what should be,”
No “past” or “future” that is not happening right now.
No “other place” that is not happening in “this place.”
…and that to truly live is to live in the awareness that I am always at one with everything and can never be separate from it no matter what I think or how hard I try.
Simple. (…but not always easy)
And whenever I can do it, I live in Heaven.
