Loving “what is” is the only success anyone has ever had.
Not loving “what is” is the only failure anyone has ever had.
If something happens and I LOVE IT, I call that a success.
If something happens and I DON’T LOVE IT, I call that a failure.
That’s all there is to it.
Success and failure are not tied to outcomes, they’re tied to feelings about outcomes.
…And a feeling is just the natural result of believing a thought, so it all comes down to what I’m thinking and believing.
If I lose my job and I love what happened, it can only be one thing: a success.
If I get a job and I don’t love what happened, it can only be one thing: a failure.
If I come in dead last in the race and I love it, that is a success.
If I come in first in the race and I don’t love it, that is a failure.
If I lose all my money and I love it, that is a success.
If I gain millions and I don’t love it, gaining millions is a failure.
If I get a zero on the test and I love it, that is a success.
If I ace the test and I don’t love it, acing the test is a failure.
If my spouse or significant other dumps me because of who I am and I love it, that is a success.
If I stay in a relationship and I don’t love it, staying in it is a failure.
If no one laughs at my joke and I love it, that is a success.
If everyone laughs at my joke and I don’t love it, that is a failure.
If the whole world rejects me for something I did and I love it, that is a success.
If the whole world adores me for something I did and I don’t love it, that is a failure.
So if I want success in life, I work with what I’m thinking and believing.
...and the only way I know to do that without kidding myself is to get quiet and question my thoughts in an honest search for the truth.
